Aurora by Charles Wong: French Romance in a Bottle
Imagine a warm summer’s eve in the midst of Cote d’Azur. The titillating aroma from a flower garden and meadow surrounds you.
Perhaps a fantasy to some people – but to Charles Wong, this romantic dream turned reality. Aurora began as an idea, a journey in pursuit of French panache and fashion. Mr Wong, a native of Hong Kong relentlessly chased his desires and traveled halfway around the world to the capital of perfumes, Grasse, where he met French perfumer Mr Richard Asfour. The two gentlemen worked closely for over a year, and the result was Aurora – the perfume of Mr Wong’s dreams.
The scent of Aurora embodies elegance and style – like a French love story where the protagonists are an impeccably dressed gentleman and a naturally beautiful lady. And, like a bouquet of fresh flowers on a midsummer’s eve, the exquisite blanket of bergamot, fig leaves, bamboo and rice water pays homage and celebrates French perfume-making savoir-faire.
My personal observation – upon sampling the perfume on a handful of occasions – is that Aurora is a stylish and very refreshing unisex fragrance, perhaps leaning towards softer notes and a delicate feel. It’s the perfect accessory (or gift) for people who appreciate the finer things in life. Aurora is a classical, timeless perfume that complements you best in spring and summer – and can be worn on any occasion and to suit any mood.
As an aside, the presentation of Aurora is noteworthy: it is encased in a beautiful bottle with a marquis grey ribbon – hand-tied by Mr Wong himself.
